NS MIRCEA - A RECONFIRMED LONG LASTING COOPERATION

Following to our constant presence on local ship-repairs market as Romanian Navy main contractor, during the fall of 2025 the iconic bark “MIRCEA”, a navy school belonging to Constanta Navy Academy, upon a bidding procedure won by Constanta Shipyard, entered for her DD and repairs.

Ship’s main particulars: 

-  LOA = 81,3 m;

-  LBP = 62,00 m;             

-  Breadth 12 m;

-  Docking draft = 5,350 m;

-  Displacement:  -  standard=1760,00 t;

                         -  maxim = 1840 t.

The scope of works was in principle a standard one, focusing on dry-docking works and various repairs in accommodation, engine room, deck equipments, etc.

The main idea was to prepare the ship for a worldwide sailing tour in 2026, occasion which will promote the Romanian flag on international waters.

Although the project was not a complex one, was calling on exchange a through attention as this is not a commercial ship, but a state-of-the art vessel, with narrow spaces, specific outfitting, diverse materials, etc.

However, the Shipyard managed to mobilize the needed resources and finally to deliver a successful project.
