M/V IRON DESTINY – a traditional Client reconfirming the long lasting partnership
Continuing the previous cooperation for standard repairs and dry-docking works, the Owners of M/V IRON DESTINY, as recognition of our company’s expertise, chosen Constanta Shipyard that during the spring time of 2025 to perform the repairs, retrofitting and dry-dockin.
Aside of standard scope related to Class requirements, the Owners has decided to proceed also with Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) installation, a specific retrofitting job in order to align the ship with the actual environmental regulations.
Based on Shipyard’s large experience of BWTS installation (more than 50 units, various types) and having the Client submitted set of installation documentation, the project was successfully completed as per the contract and Client’s satisfaction.
The contracted main scope of works consisted of:
Regular repair works:
Ø Normal docking works: sea chests & gratings, anodes renewal, valves o/h, anchor chains ranging/cleaning/marking/calibration;
Ø Structural steel works : up to 40 tons located in Ballast tanks / engine room
Ø Pipe works: up to 50 rm;
Ø Various mechanical and electrical works, including M/E o/h (MITSUBISHI SULZER 5RLB90), main switchboard o/h, Electric motors, Alternators o/h, Exhaust gas boiler & Auxiliary boiler water & fire side washing & pressure test
Ballast Water Treatment System Installation – ERMA FIRST:
Ø Soft steel works: Equipment foundations /pipe supports;
Ø Equipment: Installation of O/S equipment in ER (21pcs), Installation of O/S measure and control devices (17pcs); Installation O/S valves (51pcs).
Ø Pipe works:
· Steel piping: up to 230 rm ;
· Copper piping: up to 350 rm ;
· Stainless steel piping: 470 rm;
Ø Electrical works: Installation and connection of O/S cables (2,550 rm), Perform electric interconnections with existing equipment (Ship system);
